F&M Brewery – Planet Bean Coffee – Oatmeal Coffee Stout

Well, its official now!

In the city of Guelph, where people love their foods and beverages, two of the cities tastiest small businesses have teamed up to bring an amazing drink to local pubs in the area. F&M brewery’s brewmaster George Eagleson embarked on a mission to create a rich, dark stout with the addition of Planet Bean Coffee into the mix. Planet Bean is a Guelph based roaster of gourmet coffees which are 100% Fair Trade and Organic Certified.

“Stout and coffee are the perfect combination – both dark roasted and full-bodied. I’m really proud of this one – this truly is history in the tasting,” enthuses George. The local brewmaster has been a fan of Planet Beans roasts for many years, and this has been a dream of his for quite some time. To see it actually happen is an amazing triumph for the cities most flavourful brands.

Byron Cunningham, CEO of Planet Bean says, “This is an excellent

partnership which builds on the success of our two locally celebrated brands.” And added, “It is the kind of partnership between Guelph small businesses that can help us weather the economic storm.”

The Oatemeal Coffee Stout is available for a limited time at local pubs including the Woolwich Arms, The Cornerstone Cafe and Atmosphere cafe. Get yourself a pint before its gone!

Starbucks Profits Falling Dramatically

Starbucks Profits Fall By 97% In Past Quarter

With everything that the coffee giant, Starbucks, is trying to do to turn itself around, nothing seems to be helping. The economic slump isn’t helping one bit either as consumers are slowing down on purchases of specialty coffee from the once dominating force in the coffee industry.

New rivals have emerged, offering specialty coffee now are other food industry giants like McDonalds. Recently, McDonalds started offering a variety of specialty coffee beverages, and consumers are obviously enjoying the opportunity.
